Proof of ID and address


To comply with Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations, Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements and the London Local Authorities Act 2OO7, we are legally obliged to check proof of identification and residential address for all UK and non-UK customers.


What documents we accept


You must provide one of each of the following from the proof of ID and proof of residential address document list.
 

Proof of ID (one of the following):

·         Passport
·         Driving licence (with photocard) (exc. provisional licences)
·         National Identity card
·         HM Forces identity card
·         Employment identification card
·         Disabled drivers blue pass

Proof of Residential Address (one of the following):

·         Gas or electricity bill
·         Telephone bill (excluding mobile phone bill)
·         Water bill
·         Mortgage statement
·         Council tax bill
·         Bank statement (excluding credit card statements)
·         TV licence


The proof of residential address document must be dated within the last 3 months, and it must show both your name and address.
 

UK residents

Both the proof of ID and proof of residential address documents.
 
We will verify your identity electronically, once able to confirm your identity we will submit your application and company to Companies House.
 
If, however we are unable to verify your name and address, we will ask that the proof of ID and proof of residential address is certified and accompanied by the relevant official stamp and signature.

 

EU residents

Both the proof of ID and proof of residential address documents must be certified/notorised and accompanied by the relevant official stamp and signature.

Non-UK and Non-EU residents

 

Both the proof of ID and proof of residential address documents must be notarised by a Public Notary and accompanied by the relevant official stamp and signature.

Who can certify documents?

The following professional person or authority can certify documents:
·         Post office
·         Bank or building society official
·         Official councillor 
·         Minister of religion 
·         Dentist
·         Chartered accountant 
·         Solicitor or Notary 
·         Teacher or lecturer 
·         Local Town Hall 
·         Doctor

The following persons cannot certify documents:
·         Those related to you 
·         Living at the same address; or
·         In a relationship with you

What should a certified document look like?

You will need to take the photocopied document and the original and ask the professional person or authority to certify the copy by:

1.      Writing: "Certified to be a true copy of the original seen by me" on the document 
2.      Signing and dating the document
3.      Printing their name under the signature
4.      Adding their occupation, address and telephone number 
5.      Stamp the document with their personal or professional stamp

Please note, both the proof of ID and proof of residential address document must have the above information. 

How and where to send your documents

When signing up to our services, you will be asked to complete your account details and upload scanned copies of your documents for verification.  

There are 3 ways to send your documents:

1) Online
You can upload the documents as a PDF file when setting up your account.  For UK Residents, if we are unable to conform your identity electronically we will require your documents to be certified or notarised.  All Overseas clients will need to provide certified or notorised ID.

2) Email
You can email clear certified or notarised scanned copies to id@isupportformations.co.uk

3) Post
It is easier and quicker to upload your documents online. However if you prefer, you can send copies of these documents to:
